I love the Holiday season. I love what it stands for, how it makes me feel, and the joy you get to experience. Thanksgiving and Christmas for me are all about being thankful, spending time with family, and celebrating our Savior. The Lord has really blessed Andrew and I this past year with so many things but one thing I'm most thankful for is our work with Rescue Road. You see, it's been on my bucket list forever to save as many dogs as possible and this year I got to start making that dream come true. Andrew finally agreed to let us start fostering dogs. These dogs are pulled from the shelter and into rescue. The rescue we foster through is Rescue Road, all of their dogs are from high kill Arkansas shelters. The foster parents keep the dogs until they are up to date on their shots and healthy enough to travel. At that point, they then make a 2 day journey up North to our sister rescue, Last Hope K9 Rescue. Both of these groups are amazing and the people that work for them are absolutely wonderful! It means a lot of us to have such a great network of foster parents. So this is a thank you from me to you since you probably don't hear it enough... thanks to the shelter workers, the foster parents, the bus drivers, the adopters, and anyone else that works in rescue! If it weren't for you most of these dogs would never get the 2nd chance they deserve. I hope you all have a Happy Paw-liday Season! Always remember, Don't Shop... Adopt! XOXO, The Melton's and all of our foster babies from this year!
